Introducing TIY's Copywriter
Hello! Today is National Fun at Work Day, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to tell you guys about the fun, exciting work I get to do for TIY, while also introducing myself.

A little back story...
My name is Avery Toomes, I am a 23 year old Pratt Institute graduate where I got my Bachelors of Arts In Writing. I am from Houston, Texas where my path first crossed with our owner, Andrea. I was fifteen and Andrea was my club volleyball coach. When meeting someone like Andrea it is hard to not be immediately impressed by her work ethic, her drive, her powerful mentality, as well as her abundant kindness. It is safe to say that as I have grown up knowing her, she has always been someone I looked up to for her endless strength, tenacity, and warmth.
While she was my coach TIY was just starting off, and I remember thinking they looked strange at first, but immediately loving them after I gave it a chance, only using TIY from then on. Through my years playing college volleyball, during my painting classes, and in my day to day life I was constantly obsessed with how well TIY takes care of my hair. TIY has had an impactful difference on my hair's health, and my overall sanity. I have extremely thick hair that was known to snap and break every hair tie. I constantly was having to buy and throw away broken hair ties, which was definitely not environmentally friendly. I was prone to hair headaches which weren't avoidable without TIY. TIY changed all of this for me, and gave me a reality in which having thick hair wasn't a issue for me during sports and everyday life. As a creative I find it fun to explore all the cool ways to use a TIY. A headband, a bracelet, a hair tie... I even used it to secure my loose heel one night when I was out, and my heel snapped! Needless to say, TIYs have been there for me, making my life significantly easier and I could not be more thrilled to work for this company.
So, what exactly do I do? Well most things that contain writing, such as emails and blog posts are my domain. I am soon taking over the TikTok, which I am extremely excited for, as well as working booths at tournaments with Andrea. The more I take on here, the more I realize how blessed I am to be able to be creative, supported, and encouraged in the amazing environment that is TIY.
