It's the end of the line for the 2024 NCAA Division 1 Women's Volleyball Championship! 

As the Final Four approaches, we’re thrilled to see all four teams sporting TIY hair ties! Known as "The Volleyball Hair Tie" for their unmatched hold and strong connection to the sport, TIY continues to prove why it’s the top choice for athletes at every level. 

Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Louisville, and Penn State have showcased incredible talent and determination throughout the tournament, and we're honored to be a small part of their journey to the top.

The Championship

The semifinals were a showcase of volleyball at its finest. Louisville emerged victorious against Pittsburgh in a hard-fought battle, while Penn State triumphed over Nebraska in an equally intense match. The stage is now set for an epic showdown between Louisville and Penn State in the championship game.

Louisville Cardinals (Finalists)

The Louisville Cardinals have had an exceptional season, culminating in their appearance in the national championship match.

With a remarkable 33-3 record, the Cardinals have consistently demonstrated why they're one of the top teams in the country. Their journey to the finals has been marked by impressive victories, including a hard-fought win against Pittsburgh in the semifinals.

The team's success is a testament to their strong teamwork, resilient spirit, and the leadership of head coach Dani Busboom Kelly. 

At the heart of Louisville's success is setter Elle Glock, who has been instrumental in orchestrating the Cardinals' offense.

The redshirt junior from Wahoo, Nebraska, has played in 113 of 117 sets this season, earning AVCA All-East Region and Second Team All-ACC honors.

Glock's exceptional performance, including a season-high 60 assists against Pittsburgh, has been crucial in propelling Louisville to the championship match.

Penn State Nittany Lions (Finalists)

The Penn State Nittany Lions have once again proven why they're a volleyball powerhouse, fighting their way to the national championship match.

Their journey to the finals has been nothing short of spectacular, highlighted by a dramatic reverse-sweep victory over Nebraska in the semifinals.

This marks Penn State's 11th appearance in the national championship, showcasing the program's consistent excellence under the guidance of head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley.

Leading the charge for the Nittany Lions is outside hitter Jess Mruzik, whose performance has been nothing short of phenomenal.

In her first season with Penn State, Mruzik has already left an indelible mark, recording 510 kills in 35 matches with an impressive 4.21 kills per set.

Her standout performance, including a crucial 26-kill match in the semifinal against Nebraska, has been a key factor in Penn State's success this season.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (Semi-Finalists)

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have once again proven their elite status in college volleyball, reaching the Final Four with an impressive 33-3 season record.

Known for their strong volleyball tradition, the Cornhuskers have consistently been a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA tournament.

Their journey to the semifinals was marked by dominant performances and a showcase of the team's depth and talent, reflecting the high standards set by head coach John Cook.

A standout player for Nebraska has been Maisie Boesiger, whose contributions have been crucial to the team's success.

Although specific stats for the 2024 season weren't provided, Boesiger's skills as a setter have been instrumental in orchestrating Nebraska's offense.

Her ability to distribute the ball effectively and make smart decisions on the court has been a key factor in the Cornhuskers' impressive run to the Final Four.

Pittsburgh Panthers (Semi-Finalists)

The Pittsburgh Panthers have had a stellar season, culminating in their fourth consecutive Final Four appearance—the longest active streak in Division I volleyball.

With a remarkable 33-1 record heading into the semifinals, including 19-1 in conference play, the Panthers have been a dominant force throughout the season.

Their success, including six ACC titles and three consecutive conference championships, is a testament to the program's strength under head coach Dan Fisher.

At the forefront of Pittsburgh's success is outside hitter Torrey Stafford, whose exceptional play has been crucial to the team's achievements.

Stafford earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors for her outstanding performance in securing the ACC Championship, averaging 3.67 kills per set and 2.33 digs per set in key victories over top-ranked teams.

Her ability to deliver under pressure, as evidenced by her impressive performances against Louisville and Georgia Tech, has been a driving force behind Pittsburgh's success this season.
